Agni-par-Rickshaw !

Mumbaikars can relate to this ordeal as they passed through trauma today ! Prior, these three wheeler bandits had hijacked the city on 19th Sept and then went on till 21st Sept.

Reason : Rickshaws go on flash strike protesting RTO crackdown

Not a unknown news, as everyone laughed at it but even raised eyebrows as Autowala's did a arm twist to law & order.

In a city like Mumbai, where it's on the brink of exploding 'coz of Human population bomb, a day strike break spine of this economic hub. The working class is highly dependent on these cockroaches who rule the roads as a common man hop-skip-jump to reach destination... on time.

Infrastructure, Law & Order, Government, etc all that you may blame but its “we” who fall prey to demands of these terrorism. Yes terrorism as you may call, as we watch it helplessly with "What else can you do ?" attitude. Because its Mumbai. A highly demanding city and you may lose the race if you won't keep the pace.

Today, the rickshaw union had audacity to drop the anchor to demand hike in fare !! Isn't it enough that Mumbaikar's now lose their patience. There is anger, frustration, agony and a helpless looking common man.

Campaign's like Meter Jam made to huge success with strong participation from traffic police and various activities groups. Its time we wake up again against this loot before these bandits and our so called "Janata ke Sevak" write our fate !

Its your Agni-par-Rickshaw

Firstly *applause* for writing and not giving up Day 3. :D Secondly, we have a similar situation in Bangalore. It is almost like Auto-Raj and we are subjected to a lot of cheating, meter tamper and what not! Citizens fight but these autoguys are connected politically and u can't touch them. Once I approached a policeman to complain against an auto guy who was over charging and abusing me. The policeman yelled at me and said "you outsiders don't know anything!" Can u imagine? Anywho, my sympathies!

Hi Tanu & Shweta, Thanks and I believe everyone goes through this frustration on every work day as are left with no choice but surrender. In reality all consumer together can be a big power. Someone needs to reiterate the "Consumer is King" to "Consumer is Warrior" too. Does that call for "Agni-par-Rickshaw" campaign ? May be :)

Hi Purvesh,
One question to you, where were you four years ! Wouldn't have been possible to start my blogs without you. Thanks Chief ! :)

You know its really pathetic... there were a couple of autowallahs who actually demanded more than the meter fare...said, ki yeh sab natak hai..we'll ask for more..and today, in one of the articles of TOI, they actually justified their tampered meters :-O....

Autowalas don't have a union, they have a mafia. In Gurgaon, there are no meters. They charge whatever they feel like - whether you want to go or not is your option. No bargaining here. Gurgaon has no public transport, so if you don't have your own transportation, your absolutely dependent on the autos and their gundagardi
